Itya vs BrightHire

The Itya team · Updated · 7 min read

The short answer

Choose BrightHire if you are an enterprise that wants a mature interview intelligence suite, an AI interviewer that is live today, fraud and deepfake signals inside interviews, and the backing of Zoom, which bought it in December 2025. Choose Itya if you want published self-serve prices per workspace with unlimited teammates, a free plan, one rubric across every interview, and INR billing. BrightHire publishes no prices, so get a quote first.

The short answer

BrightHire is an interview intelligence platform that records, transcribes and summarizes interviews, and since November 2025 it also sells an AI interviewer called Screen. Zoom announced it was buying BrightHire on 13 Nov 2025. Zoom's annual report records the deal as closed on 1 Dec 2025, for $98.0M in cash. Itya is a structured interview platform: one rubric per job, used in every interview, with scorecards and debriefs that quote the transcript.

  • Pick BrightHire if you hire at enterprise scale, run many interviews on Zoom, need fraud and deepfake signals, want an AI interviewer this quarter, or need SOC 2 and an independent bias audit for procurement.
  • Pick Itya if you want to see every price before a call, start on a free plan, pay one price for any number of interviewers, or bill in rupees.

Where BrightHire is the better choice

BrightHire is an established enterprise product: Zoom first invested in it in 2021, four years before buying it. These are the places where it is ahead of Itya today.

  • An AI interviewer you can buy now. BrightHire's 2025 product recap says Screen launched in November 2025. The Screen page describes asynchronous interviews, voice-only or video, each "transcribed, summarized, and scored using your defined rubric". Itya's AI interviewer is not live yet.
  • Fraud and deepfake signals. BrightHire's fraud detection runs inside Screen and live interviews across three categories: deepfakes, network risk and interview behavior. Zoom gets full coverage, Teams gets deepfake and IP-derived signals, and Meet gets deepfake detection. Itya lists no fraud detection.
  • Built into Zoom. In June 2026, Zoom introduced deepfake detection in live Zoom interviews, in early access for Zoom Workplace customers with a BrightHire subscription. If your company runs on Zoom, that is a real advantage.
  • More integrations. BrightHire's integrations page names 18 applicant tracking systems, including Workday, iCIMS, SAP SuccessFactors and Oracle Taleo, plus scheduling and SSO tools. Itya connects to four ATSs.
  • Audit and security paperwork. BrightHire says it is SOC 2 Type 2 certified, and its Screen page says the system "has undergone an independent AI bias audit". Itya has no SOC 2 report or ISO 27001 certificate, and has published no bias audit.
  • Enterprise depth. The pricing page lists interviewer coaching, interview quality analytics, candidate rediscovery, custom reporting, custom retention and a REST API. Zoom says BrightHire is "trusted by hundreds of enterprises", including Canva, Duolingo, Instacart and SoFi.

Where Itya is the better choice

  • Prices on the page. BrightHire's pricing page shows no amounts and no pricing unit; its FAQ says it will "tailor a solution that fits your goals and budget". Every Itya plan up to Business has a published monthly price on the pricing page.
  • A free plan. BrightHire's pricing page does not mention a free plan or a trial. Itya's Free plan includes 5 recorded interviews a month with unlimited teammates, so a small team can run a real role before it pays.
  • One price for the whole panel. Itya charges per workspace, not per seat. The hiring manager, six interviewers and a recruiter cost the same as one person. Our pricing-model explainer shows when that matters.
  • One rubric in every channel, including its own room. Itya starts from competencies and an anchored scale for each job. The same rubric drives notes in Meet, Teams and Zoom and in Itya's own browser room, so an interview needs no Meet, Teams or Zoom link. Debriefs cite the transcript moment behind each claim.
  • Billing in India. Itya charges in rupees plus GST (₹4,999, ₹9,999 and ₹19,999 a month) and runs a grievance route under India's DPDP Act.
  • Independence from a meeting vendor. Zoom says BrightHire stays cross-platform, and BrightHire still records Meet and Teams. Some buyers on Teams or Meet will still prefer a tool whose roadmap is not tied to one meeting platform. That is a preference, not a defect.

How to evaluate both in two weeks

BrightHire sells through demos, so the trial plan below assumes you can arrange a pilot. Ask for one on a live role, not a sandbox.

  1. Write the rubric first. Pick one live role and four to six competencies with an anchored scale. Our interview kits are a starting point. Load the same rubric into both tools.
  2. Record five to ten real interviews in each. Ask candidates for consent and split similar interviews between the tools, rather than putting two notetakers on one call.
  3. Audit the evidence. For three claims in each summary, find the transcript moment behind it. Count the claims you cannot trace.
  4. Test Screen if you need an AI interviewer. Run it on candidates who agree to it, read the transcripts, and ask what a candidate who wants a person instead should do.
  5. Check fraud signals on your meeting platform. Coverage differs between Zoom, Teams and Meet. Test on the one you use.
  6. Check the ATS round trip. Confirm scorecards and notes land where recruiters work.
  7. Price your real panel. Count everyone who will interview this quarter, get BrightHire's written quote for that number, and compare it with Itya's plan for your volume.
  8. Send the security questionnaire. Ask for the SOC 2 report, the bias audit summary, the DPA and the deletion process.

What we could not verify

BrightHire publishes no prices, so we cannot compare cost without a quote. Its pages do not list the languages Screen or its notes support. We also could not find the names of BrightHire's bias auditor or the audit results. On our side, Itya publishes no interview language list, and its AI interviewer is not live.

If you want a price you can read today and a rubric that follows every interview, start a free Itya workspace from the pricing page and read the trust page first. If you need an AI interviewer, fraud signals on Zoom or a SOC 2 report this quarter, BrightHire is the stronger fit.
